Mouths of Sharks depicts a day of a religious refugee who got stuck in Denizli due to Donald Trump's ban on Islamic countries. Ironically, Basir is not Muslim; actually he had to leave his home for that reason. Although he was a cellist in many orchestras in Iran, now he has to work in a wood company to earn living.
The music is written for string quartet. The cello part was recorded by Basir, and in the performance, 3 other string players accompany with him as a string quartet.
For the performance, we also put one empty chair music stand for Basir on the set.
It has been performed in The Dancz Center for New Music on April 2018 in US.
